Important Notes

Application

  1. Participants must study the rules and regulations listed below carefully. Participants who have completed the registration process to abided by the rules and regulations of the event.
  2. All entries are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is only considered successful upon completion of the payment process and receipt of official confirmation from the Organizer.

  4. Applicants should register for the race of their respective age group (age is calculated based on the year of birth). For example, if the applicant was born in December 2005, the applicant's age will be deemed as 21 years old, and the age group category will be Male Adult. The Organizer reserves the right to verify the age of participants or require participants to provide identification documents for age verification before or after the Event.
  5. Applicants who have successfully submitted their applications will receive a confirmation of submission. A formal notification of the application results will be issued after the review process is complete. (Applicable to Full Marathon and Half Marathon "Challenge")
  6. Participants are responsible for ensuring payment is completed via official platform within the specified timeframe. Failure to complete the payment within the time limit will be deemed as a forfeiture of eligibility.

  8. Prior to registration and participation, participants must carefully read and complete the 'Health Declaration Form and Recommendations' provided by the Organizer. It is the responsibility of the participants to assess and ensure that their physical condition is suitable for participating in this event.
  9. Once an application is accepted, the registration fee and race quota are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances. A confirmation email will be sent to the registered email address on the same day after the Organizer has received the registration fee. If you do not receive it within the expected timeframe, please contact the Organizer immediately.
  10. Each participant can only submit one registration application for each category. Once submitted, the information cannot be modified or resubmitted, so please make sure the information is correct before submitting.
  11. Repeated applications in same race will be counted as a single application. The extra application fee is non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another applicant or other races. Also, the submitted form and information will not be returned.
  12. The personal information collected in Northern Metropolis Marathon 2026 will be stored in SPORTSOHO's server and will only be used for contact purposes of this event. The information will be kept strictly confidential and will be destroyed within one month after the relevant purpose is completed. For more details, please visit its privacy statement.
     

Competition Rules

  1. Please stick the bib at the front of running tank visibly throughout the event; offenders will be disqualified.
  2. Result will be calculated in Official Time.
  3. The result will be announced on event day. Appeal will only be accepted within 15 minutes after result announcement with a completed “Complain and Appeal” form together with HK$100 appealing fee. Appeal fee will only be refunded for successful appeal. No appeal will be entertained afterwards.
  4. Dangerous goods (i.e. offensive weapons, flammable, explosive agents or materials/objects which obstruct other participants, etc.) are strictly prohibited. Those who violate this rule will be asked to leave the course immediately and such cases might be reported to the Police.
  5. Race officials reserve the right to ask a participant to leave the race course immediately, in case he / she is found using any external auxiliary equipment during the race, except for prosthetic limb(s).
  6. Participants should follow organizer’s instructions; offenders will be disqualified.
     

Event Race Pack

  1. A notification email notice regarding collection of event race pack will be sent to all participants during mid to late October.
  2. If you are unable to receive the race pack collection notice on or before 27th October 2026, please contact us by email [email protected], call (+852) 2117 1650 or WhatsApp / WeChat (+852) 4481 2597 for assistance.
  3. Participants have to show either the hard copy or electronic copy of the notification email to our staff to collect the race pack & souvenirs.

  4. Participants can collect the race pack at the reserved timeslot during the date, time and location as below:

  5. In order to avoid congestion and to ensure a smooth distribution, participants are strongly advised to collect their race packs according to the reserved date and time.
     

Baggage Arrangement

  1. Participants must complete Baggage Check at the Baggage Check Station before Baggage Deposit. Any baggage has not completed Baggage Check will not be handled by the Organizer.
  2. Baggage Deposit must be completed 30 minutes before each Start Time. The Organizer reserves the right to refuse handling baggage of any late participants.
  3. Please ensure the Baggage Tag provided by the Organizer is securely tied on the Baggage Bag before depositing to the designated Baggage Truck.
  4. Please do not deposit valuable items. The Organizer will not be responsible for any losses or damages of deposited items.
  5. Baggage of the Marathon & Half Marathon will be transported to the Finish Area. Participants may collect their baggage at the following designated Baggage Collection Areas after the race.
  6. Participants who do not require Baggage Deposit should proceed directly to starting area to prepare for the start.
     

Health & Safety Advice

  1. Participants should make sure their health condition is suitable for the race. In case of doubt, please seek medical advice in advance.
  2. Participants should understand the event content and nature and participation of this event requires physical exertion. Participants should be in sound medical condition capable for participating in the event. The Organizer suggests all participants to monitor their own physical conditions deemed fit and capable for participating in the event. In case you are feeling sick or unwell during the event, you should immediately stop the activity and do seek help from the onsite race officials.
  3. Participants should take protective measures against UV, such as applying sunscreen, wearing cap and ensuring water replenishment.
  4. People who are pregnant or with chronic diseases, like heart disease and high blood pressure, are not recommended to participate in the event.
  5. The Organizer reserves the right to disallow or disqualify any person who is known or suspected to be physically unfit to participate in the event and such person shall accept.
  6. Public liability insurance is covered by the Organizer of the event. Participants are also advised to purchase their own insurance cover if necessary.
     

Severe Weather

  1. If Typhoon Signal No.8 or above is hoisted at any time from 8:00 am on the day before event, the event will be cancelled, and no rescheduling for the cancelled event.
  2. If the Red Rainstorm Signal is hoisted at any time from 2:00 am on the event day, the event will be cancelled, and no rescheduling for the cancelled event.
  3. If the race is cancelled due to the above Inclement Weather/Condition Warnings hoisting, enrollment fee will not be refunded.
  4. If the Hong Kong Observatory forecasts inclement weather on the day of the event with a high likelihood of weather warnings being issued, the Race Director has the right to change the event route. The enrollment Fee will not be refunded.
  5. Please check the weather on the event day from Hong Kong Observatory (Tel: 1878200).

Others

  1. If the event is cancelled due to venue unavailability, the arrangement will be announced on this event website and Facebook page of Sportsoho Media Limited.
  2. Baggage storage will be provided. Please do not bring any valuable item. The Organizer is not responsible for the lost or damage of the baggage stored. Participants are deemed to be accepting this term when using the baggage storage service.
  3. Should there be any emergency or assistance needed during the event, participants shall contact the officials at the information center.
  4. All prizes are not redeemable for cash.
  5. The Organizer reserves the right to amend or clarify the above race rules.
     

Languages

The Important Notes are in Chinese and English. In the case of discrepancies between the Chinese and English versions, the Chinese version shall prevail. The Organizer reserves the right to interpret and amend the Important Notes and regulations as it sees fit from time to time.
